Founded by Gauls, Reims was a major city during roman era. During French monarchy, Reims played an important ceremonial role as coronation place for kings. The city holds Notre Dame de Reims and Basilica St. Remi which are most dominant in nation’s history and religion.

Today Reims has many of largest champagne producing houses. Splendid  vineyards and aging champagne below them in caves and tunnels is tradition in Reims dating back to roman times.
