East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition – EMITT opened its doors for the 20th time. EMITT which was joined by 4.500 companies in 11 halls equaling to a total exhibition space of 70 thousand meter squares and ended in the evening of January 31st has been the main meeting point for travel enthusiasts and for 70 countries including Turkey that join to promote their vacation destinations. Hosted by Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkish Republic, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Turkish Airlines, supported by KOSGEB and organized in association with Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TÜROFED) and Turkish Tourism Investors Association (TYD). The exhibition was visited by 56.124 unique visitors comprising professionals of the industry and consumers making vacation plans.
As one of the top five tourism exhibitions in the world, EMITT created a powerful synergy by bringing together on the same platform the players of the tourism industry at Tuyap Exhibition and Convention Center between 28 – 31 January 2016. And at the panels held alongside the exhibition, topics like “Brandization in Tourism”, “Health Tourism” and “New Trends in Tourism” were discussed. EMITT also featured stage performances and stand activities by performance groups from Turkey and from across the world.

Starting with the third day of the exhibition, our visitors had a chance to discover vacation destinations from USA, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Philippines, South Africa, India, Iran, Italy, Korea, Cuba, Maldives, Egypt, Panama, Sarajevo, Thailand, Vietnam, Greece as well as over 200 tourism destinations from 81 cities in our country. Vacation consumers were able to get detailed information about destinations of interest to them and plan their vacations at attractive prices thanks to ‘early booking’ campaigns offered at the exhibition”.
